Night 2: “Preparing the Body for Meditation”
This lecture of ILC introduced several techniques to prepare for meditation. I often just use the stretching and releasing of all of the muscles in the body or even a few muscles to instantly relax and do a quick imaging of the LIGHT throughout my body. Even though it (the light force) is always there, a timely boost helps with energy and liveliness. Also mentioned in this lecture was that Russians had done pioneering work with Kirlian photography. One of the findings was that if you think about light your aura or energy field becomes brighter and lighter. And that is easy! If we think light we automatically manifest more of our light nature. That’s easy and relaxing and refreshing!
These were the techniques taught in session 2.
- Stretching and releasing exercises to relax the entire body, section by section.
- Washing in the White Light–a visualization of running white light through all areas of the body and learning to recognize areas of need in the body for extra attention.
- Introduction to Meditation. Explanation of brain waves.
In all of this talk of the curriculum, I think it is good to remember that Jesus said that he was the light of the world AND he also said in Matthew 5: 14-16
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.Introduction to Meditation.
The simple and clear explanation of A. alpha waves creating meditation and B. beta waves creating alertness and if too high, creating stress gave me much to think about. I understood that much of the earlier chanting I had done had always put me into low alpha waves and rested my body. It is easier to rejuvenate healthy and “happy” cells while we are in alpha waves. Now, that will keep us fit and vital!
