The life path number in numerology is the sum of the day, month and year of your birth reduced to one number. The numbers 11 and 22 are considered master numbers. They are not reduced to one number. An 11 life path number usually denotes someone who brings great harmony into their community and great beauty. A 22 life path number usually denotes someone who is actively working to improve daily living for the masses.
Here is a site that lists the meaning of the life path numbers:
When I first learned my Life Path Number was a 2, the number of a person who serves others in some capacity, I was not surprised. Working as a teacher, learning to be a therapist and having a degree in Guidance and Counseling certainly was a fit with that life plan. It additionally was reassuring to know I was making useful choices and following my heart. It was comforting to know I wasn’t wasting my energies or life force by participating in activities that were not adding to my soul growth.
Interestingly enough, in the Peace Through Understanding Summer School programs, Jan Ton would give participants a natal astrological reading and I would give participants a numerology reading. What we heard over and over was the numerology reading was an abbreviated version or a summary of the astrology reading. Certainly a natal astrology reading is helpful for examining the life path.
There are other ways of obtaining information about the Life Path. The Enneagram has given me the same message as the numerological and the astrological readings. Here is a reference:
The Myers-Briggs Personality Inventory gives a more detailed elaborated version.
“The Myers–Briggs Type Indicator is an introspective self-report questionnaire with the purpose of indicating differing psychological preferences in how people perceive the world around them and make decisions. The MBTI was constructed by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers.” Wikipedia
I wish you the serenity, security, well-being and reassurance of knowing your life purpose and life path.
