Day 213: “…positive suggestions should instruct the sensitive ears of children.” AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A YOGI, Paramahansa Yogananda

This following quotation brought back so many memories of my childhood.

“…positive suggestions should instruct the sensitive ears of children.” AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A YOGI, Paramahansa Yogananda

I questioned what my sensitive ears had heard. My father was an Archie Bunker type upon returning from work—his first 10 minutes in the house after work was filled with ethnic slurs. Thankfully my mother would remind me that he was just venting and tired. She assured me that the people he worked with were fine people. So, I learned to block that vileness. I am lucky my parents did the best they could to inspire me to fulfill my potential.

At the time, I read this book I yearned to be a mother and took Yogananda’s words to heart.  A year later I had the opportunity to begin the good and positive suggestions heart to heart, soul to soul to the embryo growing inside me.  After her birth I was intent to fill my daughter’s sensitive ears with empowering thoughts.

Since I believe we are always parenting or re-parenting ourselves throughout adulthood, each day I tell the child within “good and positive suggestions”.

I am now sharing spiritual material that inspired me to long for and to create Super-Aging.
