I’ve put off writing this all day thinking, “Oh my goodness, discussing emotions could happen in 10,000 books.”
However, I’ll be brief with these points that I think are so important for analyzing the years’ experience of emotions.
- Am I living, working, playing/ re-creating in networks where I am free to express my emotions?
- Did I stifle my emotions too often or was I free to express them?
- Did I brutalize anyone else or myself with dumping negative emotions and not managing negativities?
- Am I even aware of my emotions or have words to express them? (Males often express difficulty with understanding emotions—states of being that can be expressed with “I am” statements.)
If emotions are difficult for anyone in the family to express—the language of emotions can be explored by making a list on the refrigerator of emotions. Granted most emotions fit under FLAP: Fear, Love, Anger and Pain However, the nuances of emotions can make life richer and deeper in texture.
