Maybe making resolutions isn’t as important as just responding ably all day long.
I am ending the year with affirmations at the request of a dear friend who has found himself in deep doo-doo, the pits, a personal hell of his making. And I thought some responsibility affirmations could be beneficial for all of us whether we are floating blissfully out of the old year or digging our way to fresh air.
As I thought about responsibility, oh, yes meaning to RESPOND ABLY, I realized that task goes on all day. Responding ably is an all day, every day, and daily grind duty. For example:
I need to respond to the firetruck wailing and zooming down the street behind my car.
I need to respond to the fact I dropped a clump of broccoli from the soup ladle on the floor.
I need to respond ably when I forget to put the top back on my lotion.
I’ll need to respond ably when my towel slips off the rack, when the dishwasher stops working, when my boss isn’t happy with my work, etc.
Whether big or small, responding ably goes on all day every day.
Here are some responsibility affirmations:
I am responsible for my happiness and how I feel at all times.
I have been unfair when I have held others responsible for my feelings and for making me feel loved. I forgive myself for that unfairness.
I am responsible for my emotions, my feelings and my well-being.
I will love you even when you do not love me and when you do not meet my expectations.
I am learning to love myself and all sentient beings.
I take responsibility for creating a loving environment and therefore a more loving world.
Please join me in this affirmation for 2020: I AM SOWING SEEDS OF PEACE, JOY, TRUTH, HARMONY, BEAUTY, RESPECT, WISDOM AND LOVING KINDNESS.
